Congratulations to all this year’s North West FSB Celebrating Small Business Award winners. They are reflective of the vibrancy, innovation and tenacity that makes up our small business community. It’s been thrilling to see so many businesses in the North West enthusiastically take part in our awards and the sheer scale and diversity of those who entered is a testimony to the vitality of the small business community in the North West. Park Cliffe is a family business whose Environmental Action Plan has seen them use renewable energy, plant thousands of trees and provide natural habitats with a wildlife corridor for small animals.

Spice Kitchen are an award-winning family-run spice company founded in 2012 by mother and son duo Shashi and Sanjay Aggarwal. Everything they do is rooted in Shashi’s deep knowledge of spices and Indian Masalas and is powered by Sanjay’s love of cooking with flavours from around the world. Last year they released their first cookery book, Spice Kitchen.

Micro Business Award

Nantwich, Cheshire

Envision Communications provide comprehensive mobile, fixed, and hosted telecoms services, along with full connectivity solutions ranging from standard broadband through to leased line and cellular continuity planning. Envision’s co-founders, Simon Bade and Duncan Niblett, created the business believing their needed to be a higher standard in communication and connectivity business operations for customers.

CSC2 is a company dedicated to helping businesses of all sizes achieve robust cybersecurity postures and comply with relevant regulations.

Young Entrepreneur Award

Hooton, Cheshire

Matt Pyke, is the Managing Director of Fly High Media, a digital marketing agency he founded in 2016 at the age of 19. The agency specialises in helping clients generate more leads and sales by improving their online presence using search engine optimisation (SEO), Pay-per-click (PPC) Facebook advertising and Social Media Marketing. The company also supports businesses by providing training on marketing techniques as well as regularly publishing marketing blogs and podcasts. Fly High Media’s success is built on providing an excellent service to clients, creating bespoke marketing solutions, and having a highly motivated team that delivers outstanding results.

The Naughty Badger Bistro sits a stone’s throw from Chester Cross and in 14 months has become a multi-award winning bistro serving restaurant quality food with a home feeling. With remarkable turnover from a small team they have built a solid foundation for a successful business that is here to stay.

Helen & Westly Wilson from Fun Fest Cheshire are the largest franchisee for Fun Fest Holiday Club, an exciting range of 40+ activities provided daily, to ensure children are engaged and active throughout all school holidays. Award winning Fun Fest Cheshire operate a flexible and important childcare service to parents across six sites in Cheshire and Greater Manchester.

Nightstop Communities North-West CIC (NCNW) is a multi-award winning non-for-profit organisation embedded within its local community. They provide temporary emergency supported accommodation for up to 2 years, with properties spanning across Halton, Warrington, and the Liverpool City Region. They help to house individuals aged 18+ experiencing homelessness, or at risk of becoming so.

Hayley Kellard from Dotty About Braille has encouraged inclusivity by creating a product that ensures blind and visually impaired people can receive a meaningful, thoughtful and accessible greetings card, no matter the event or occasion.

Service Excellence Award

Box Power CIC is a Community Interest Company and the UK’s only philanthropic not-for-profit energy Third Party Intermediary sourcing, brokering and managing the energy for businesses across the UK, with 100% of the profits they generate being donated to charities that they feel passionate about whilst investing heavily in customer satisfaction initiatives.To date over £1m has been donated to over 30 different charities that deal with a wide array of community issues, ranging from hospices and animal shelters, to charities that help children and families with disabilities, women’s refuges and many more.
