It’s been thrilling to see so many businesses in the East of England enthusiastically take part in our awards and the sheer scale and diversity of those who entered is a testimony to the vitality of the small business community in the area. LITTA’s mission is to create a new standard for rubbish removal, using technology to connect customers with local waste partners, and create transparent end-to-end waste journeys, maximising recycling and eliminating fly tipping. Having experienced significant growth within the first two years of operation this asset light waste removal aggregator business diverted over 15,000 tonnes of waste from landfill in 2023 and their tech-based solutions, with a customer-centric ethos, has seen them rapidly expand to become one of the nation’s leading providers.

Sustainability Award


Jem's Bees is a one-woman operation overseen by beekeeper Jem Westing. The company produces seasonal honey and an array of all-natural homemade products, including exclusive printed items. Leveraging her background in design, recycling, and children's book publishing, Jem has infused the brand with creativity, diligently recycling and restoring equipment all while sharing her honeybee expertise online and in person. Jem is focussed on keeping the environmental impact of the business as low as it can be whilst still maintaining a thriving and successful business model.

The business has grown exponentially from a small unit to impressive large new premises resulting in national and regional recognition.

Self-employed / Freelancer Award


After twenty years’ experience, leading teams, driving business growth and serving as directors for others, Phil McEwan decided to back himself. The business was born out of a simple yet powerful vision to empower businesses through strategic clarity. Since incorporating in 2022, the business has grown to become a trusted partner for a diverse range of clients, achieving demonstrable success and always exceeding expectations.

Young Entrepreneur Award


Samantha Cage and Ocala Healthcare support people with complex care needs and has quickly become a market leader in this space in Suffolk. Samantha Cage launched Ocala Healthcare in November 2017 and continued to grow the business, before being invited to operate as a Care Quality Commission provider by the Local Authority in August 2020. Having self funded the business at launch Ocala Healthcare has delivered high turnover and growth alongside five star reviews.

Reed Commercial Services Ltd is a flourishing commercial cleaning venture which launched in April 2022. The company stands out for its excellence in virus control, sustainability practices, and employee welfare, paying above the living wage. Positioned for long-term success, the company strategically targets growth opportunities, emphasising a purpose-led approach under solid leadership.

Community Award

St Albans

Domestic Abuse Alliance brings together organisations working on the frontline of domestic abuse with the civil legal sector to provide immediate legal assistance and protection for victims. Their free to use WEPROTECT mobile app enables instant victim referral to ensure that appropriate legal support is actioned without delay. Eight UK police forces are currently using WEPROTECT, as well as several specialist services to help improve support provision for victims of domestic abuse so that they can start to feel safe again.

Diversity and Inclusion Award


The NeuroSpicy Entrepreneur Club is a safe space for Neurodiverse entrepreneurs whose brains are wired differently. The business was established by Jemima Willcox, a neurodiverse entrepreneur who knew there was a need for a community hub for individuals to come together and connect, feel comfortable enough to open up, share their experiences and ideas with a group of like-minded people. The business is now a vibrant community for neurodiverse entrepreneurs and business professionals.

Service Excellence Award


Vanlife Conversions is based in Essex, and is founded by veteran Oli and Emily Arnold. They specialise in bespoke, off-grid campervans working with clients to design beautiful high-spec spaces tailored to their needs, enabling a lifestyle of freedom and adventure. The business works closely with our clients to understand their unique requirements, ensuring that the completed van not only meets but exceeds their expectations. Service excellence is embedded in the organisation in every process and customer interaction leading to a thriving business in the heart of the East of England.
